About the event

Your story has a setting, but does it have a strong sense of place? Creating a powerful and evocative atmosphere, particularly when writing crime fiction, influences how readers experience a story and—for series writers—can keep them coming back for more. Through a step-by-step strategy, we’ll explore techniques for creating a tangible mood through setting description, sensory detail, pacing, and flow of information with the goal of elevating your standalone or series mystery or thriller.
