About the event
Whether you’re self-producing or you’ve been hired by your audiobook publisher to narrate your own book, author/narrator Tori Eldridge will guide you from pitch to audition to rehearsal and through your recording sessions to bring out your best possible work. She’ll discuss voicing your book’s narrator, different characters, and even multiple POVs. She’ll also explain the process, the tech, how to prepare, and what to expect from your publishing company, producer, director, and engineer.
Before narrating KAUA‘I STORM, Tori acted on Broadway, television, and film—on-camera and voiceovers—in addition to recording in studios as a singer. She’ll address the nuanced differences for narrating an audiobook and how you can use these new skills to improve your author readings online and in-person as well.
Tori Eldridge is the bestselling author Kaua'i Storm (Ranger Makalani Pahukula Mystery) and the Lily Wong mystery thriller series—nominated for Anthony, Lefty and Macavity Awards, and winner of the 2021 Crimson Scribe Award for Best Book of the Year. Born and raised in Honolulu—of Hawaiian, Chinese, and Norwegian descent—Tori graduated from Punahou School with classmate President Barack Obama. Before writing, Tori performed as an actress, singer, and dancer on Broadway, television, film, and holds a 5th degree black belt in To-Shin Do ninja martial arts. After living in New York and Los Angeles for more than 35 years, Tori lives and writes from Portland, Oregon, where her grandchildren live.
